Ducktales Episode 9 “The Impossible Summit of Mt. Neverrest” Review

By. Andrew

It’s been awhile since the last Ducktales Episode (even longer for me and my delayed viewing)! Although the show is still not back to its weekly updates, we do have this wintery episode to appease us for a little while.

This episode takes our team on a journey to Mt. Nevverest, a mountain which has never been fully scaled before, and Scrooge wants to change that! Alongside Scrooge’s goal, Huey wants to earn a woodchuck badge by being the first to map uncharted land, and Webby and Dewey want to have the ultimate sledding experience by going down Nevverest. Louie, on the other hand, decides to hang back and enjoy the resort at the foot of the mountain, and Launchpad gets into his own ridiculous antics.

This was such a fun episode, just like every episode. I thought it was hilarious to cut Louie and Launchpad out of the adventure the way they did, and their side story was just as fun as the main one. The animation was on point in this episode, as is to be expected from this series now. I really loved the atmosphere of the episode, being another fantastic site for a Ducktales adventure. Being a sucker for easter eggs, I would have killed for an Everest Expedition or Matterhorn Bobsled reference, but I guess that wasn’t meant to be.

One of my favorite parts of this episode was Webby, which tends to be a recurring thing with me. From the second she falls over on her sled and decided “yep, that’s sledding, time to check that off my life goals,” I was cracking up. Her physical gags are unlike any other in the show, even funnier than Launchpad, who experienced many physical gags in this episode.

As far as flaws, I really don’t have any. Launchpad could get annoying for some, especially since he is the break between the suspenseful main plot, but it really did not bother me at all.

Overall, this was another great episode of Ducktales. The setting was beautiful, the characters were hilarious, the serious moments were intense (especially that very dark moment that I won’t spoil), and the conclusion was very satisfying. I also really enjoyed the twist towards the very end. Now I just have to wait for the return of this series, which I am dying to see more of!

Score: 9/10
